Job description
We are hiring a Finance Assistant to be filled as soon as possible based in Somerset West. You will report directly to the Financial Manager. This position offers
an opportunity to gain valuable experience through working in the growing sustainable agriculture sector and maintaining accurate accounting data and compiling relevant financial reports. This is a 12 month internship, after which the candidate will have a very high probability of permanent employment within the company. The company and our growing Finance Department also offers a good opportunity for growth and career development. Ideal starting date is July.

Your tasks
You will be responsible to carry out the following duties:
  • To manage trade receivables and client account enquiries
  • Data entry and maintaining accurate accounting records
  • Capturing and reconciliation of intercompany transactions
  • Assist with financial reporting and budgeting (Power BI)
  • Integration of new finance software and tools (NetSuite Oracle)
  • Provide timely accounting data to other departments
  • Collaborating with auditors and capturing expense claims
  • Administer general tasks within the finance department

Profile

  • Tertiary degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant qualification. Other experience in a relevant field will be advantageous
  • High level of computer literacy – Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent English and Afrikaans spoken and written competency with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Type of contract: Internship (12-month contract)

Should the internship succesfully lead to a permanent position the following will be applicable:
60% medical aid contribution for you and your dependents + life- and disability insurance. When working more than 6 months you will become eligible for a performance bonus based on the level of achievement of your annual objectives. Partial remote working is part of the current company policies.
